Another bayfront residence that was remodeled instead of being demolished and replaced. The existing main house had a garage apartment added at the rear by this office several years earlier. An extensive exterior face lift was preformed in addition to the interior remodeling. A spacious roof deck was also added.
This remodel also received mention in the Orange County Register, as much as a practical example of structural retrofits to preserve an older structure as its preservation of the existing area character.
Much of the required structural work was to allow the interior spaces to be opened up and create a better flow between spaces. The kitchen was updated to provide the required modem function and feel while the style still reflected the existing charm of the home. Much of the updating was under the skin as plumbing and electrical systems were replaced throughout the structure.
